How does this affect your recognition of personal sin, and your response to God.
Does it give a different perspective on this world and your life, does it change what you seek and thirst for?
What are the implications if there is no ultimate judgement?
What does it mean that our judge is also our saviour?
How are you able to view the Day of the Lord? As a criminal trial for sin with no escape from the death penalty? Or as a welcome to your eternal home by the one who saved you?
Can we understand God’s standards of justice on this final day? What are the essential things we need to know about the judgement?
What are we to understand about the judgement in relation to our dearly loved ones who don’t appear to place their hopes in Jesus.

Joel 2:31, “The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.”

Zechariah 14:1, “Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, And your spoil will be divided in your midst.”

Daniel 12:2, “And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.”

2 Timothy 4:1, “I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:”

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”

1 Thessalonians 5:2, “For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.”

James 5:9, “Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door!”

Malachi 4:1-2, ““For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven,… But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings;”

Mark 16:16, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”

Psalm 9:7-9, “But the Lord shall endure forever; He has prepared His throne for judgment. He shall judge the world in righteousness, And He shall administer judgment for the peoples in uprightness. The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble.”

Psalm 96:13, “for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, And the peoples with His truth.”

Ecclesiastes 12:14, “For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.”

Isaiah 11:4, “But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.”

Mark 9:43-44, “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched — where ‘Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’”

Romans 2:5-6, ‘But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who “will render to each one according to his deeds”’

2 Thessalonians 1:6-10, “since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed.”

Revelation 6:10, “And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”

Revelation 14:11, “And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

Revelation 21:8, “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
